One time when my Gran came round she reminded my dad that he didn't like them as a kid and he wasn't forced to eat them so why did he force his own children?

If I got a chance I took them off my plate and gave them to the dog who was always under the table hoping for scraps to fall. She took every one but when the table was cleared and the cloth removed it was revealed she hadn't eaten them just chewed them a bit and then spat them out.

Never got told off for that though.

She has just e-mailed me and invited me for lunch.

I have made a decision and it is making me a little bit scared but I am going to do it.

I am going to tell her I am "out" and 100% against the book publishing company posing as a religion and claiming to be god's only channel of communication on earth that I once belonged to. No pussyfooting about and sugar coating it and blaming depression etc.

I will tell her I am atheist and I totally believe in evolution.

If she wants to be my friend then it has to be based on honesty and I am not prepared to let her delude herself into believing I am "taking a break" from it all. This is what she said when I told her I would never step inside a KH again.

She may report me and I will be disfellowshipped. So be it.

I am going to show her a copy of The Independant newspaper article and the Watchtower claiming apostates are mentally diseased and how it was me made the statement to the Police. She already knows I am friends with Cantleave and Nugget and they were disfellowshipped for apostasy and I will tell her they are my friends first and foremost over every-one else along with my other apostate friends. If she still wants to be friends with the "new me" I am happy to have her back in my life.

I feel guilty not wanting to rekindle the friendship and I felt enormous anger when she disrespected anything apostates have experienced or said. It felt like cognitive dissonance in reverse.

I felt sick.

It is complicated.

She only knows I haven't been to a meeting since being attacked and have suffered severe depression ever since.

Here we know that means I am a successful 4 year fader but I am guessing she does not know that expression.

It feels like she wants me to get her back to the KH and of course there is no way that's going to happen.

So far she has initiated JW topics and I have told her I doubt their reasoning and "facts" as they have changed so much over the years. She disagreed with me so I then quickly changed the subject.

She is unaware of any doctrinal changes and still believes the 1914 generation is still alive and therefore Armageddon is really soon. I did try but she isn't hearing.

Yesterday I had a real blast from my past turn up un-announced on my doorstep. She bumped into my daughter (who has rejected me) in Sainsbury's, took her to lunch and got my address from her. She claims she has been searching for me ever since she discovered I was back in the UK.

She is a disfellowshipped sister who was described by one of our elders as a wagon. ie, she needs pulling every step of the way. All coffees enjoyed together at her house or mine I was allowed to count as time!

She goes to the memorial, gets the magazines but clearly doesn't read them and believes every single word spewed out of the GB's mouth. The only reason she has not tried to get reinstated is because she wants the freedom to live her life without any restrictions but "will go back" one day.

I talked about various doctrines/flip-flops etc and although she didn't believe me she made it clear she will not bother researching anything I have said either but still defends even the slightest criticism. I was exhausted after a few hours and let every point go when it was clear she did not want to hear what I was saying.

She has invited me to dinner next Friday but I don't want a repeat of yesterday. We have not been "friends" for almost 10 years but I don't know if it is possible to be friends with some-one so opposed to my views and my new friends who I care way more about than any from the KH as I don't think she even wants to know ttatt.

Do I cancel Friday?

the bible is written in classical hebrew (there are many other types and older types).

yhwh is a classical hebrew sentence that roughly means 'he wills it, and it happens'.

the hebrew language has such mechanisms for saying things in a shortened form, much like today cpr, rsvp, vip etc..... adonai is also classical hebrew, but its a word.... it means 'lord' and 'master'.. .

I never fully understood the claim about the Greek scriptures not containing the "name" and it being inserted erroneously by the society but now I do.
